Rolling in Gold (Japanese: 転がるきんのたま！？ Rolling Gold Orb!?) was a special event in Pokémon Masters EX that ran to celebrate Golden Week. It was focused on the sync pair Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor.
During this event, players could complete story areas to earn Gems, recruit Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor, and receive a special event title. Some story areas needed to be unlocked by complete event missions, which required players to complete certain battles.
Nuggets earned could be exchanged for items in the shop, including power-up items for Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor and Roll Cake Coins.
First run
The event first ran from April 29 to May 7, 2025, alongside the ranked damage event Aim for the Top. In this run, there were no battles available in the event; the battles that needed to be completed for the event missions were found in Aim for the Top. Additionally, Nuggets could only be obtained in Aim for the Top.
Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor could be teamed up with by completing the second story area in this run, which was unlocked after completing one battle in Aim for the Top.
Second run
The event reran from May 5 to 18, 2026. Aim for the Top did not rerun alongside it; instead, battles were added to this event directly—battles identical to those found in Aim for the Top—which rewarded Nuggets on completion. The battle Challenge Teddy could be challenged an unlimited number of times, but the battle Daily Battle could only be challenged once per day. Daily Battle was the only battle that counted for the event missions.
Teddy (Hiker) & Rellor could be teamed up with by completing the first story area in this run.
Plot
Juliana and the player arrive at the top of a mountain where a ball-rolling race is set to occur. To Juliana's surprise, many of the participants own a Rellor. She also has a Rellor, so she tells the player a little bit about it. Overhearing Juliana's expertise on Rellor, Teddy, a Hiker participating in the event, joins the two in conversation. With his own Shiny Rellor, Teddy hopes to find a teammate to battle alongside. The player beats Teddy in the ball-rolling race, but the player is impressed by Teddy's bond with his Rellor, so Teddy is allowed to join the player's team.
