Featured sync pairs Lance & Charizard

Lance's New Partner Pokémon (Japanese: ワタルの新バディ!?) was a special co-op event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pair Lance & Charizard as part of the Charizard's Charge campaign.

The "Lance Variety Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Lance & Charizard for the duration of the event.

During this event, players could take on Lance & Charizard in co-op battles, but they could not use the "Create Your Own Team" option to challenge these battles. Lance & Charizard had the passive skill Head Start 4, allowing them to use their sync move and Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard Y faster than usual. The battle "Challenge Lance" could be challenged an unlimited number of times, but the battle "Challenge: Explosive Mega Evolution" could only be challenged once per day. Players earned Proofs of Victory for completing these battles, which could be exchanged in the shop for items such as exclusive lucky cookies for sync pairs formed with Charizard.

In addition, limited-time Gym missions were available for the duration of the event, rewarding players for collecting certain numbers of Proofs of Victory. Players could earn Gems by completing solo missions and Gym Scout Tickets A by completing group missions.

The first time players logged in after the event began, a special conversation would play in which Lance greets the player in the Pokémon Center and introduces them to his Charizard.
