Framestore is a British visual effects studio that works on advertising, television, and film. The studio has won Academy Awards for its work on The Golden Compass, Gravity, and Blade Runner 2049.[1]
Framestore worked on POKÉMON Detective Pikachu as a secondary studio in the art, animation, and visual effects departments.[2] It is credited as an illustrator in the TCG for certain cards associated with the film. Additionally, Framestore created the launch trailer for Pokémon Sword and Shield.[3]
Work
Film
Framestore led on the designs of 24 Pokémon for POKÉMON Detective Pikachu, including Charizard, Jigglypuff, and Aipom.[2][4] The studio was responsible for scenes involving these Pokémon as well as the animation of the R gas.[5] About 55 people from Framestore's London and Montreal offices worked on the film.[4]
Trading Card Game
Framestore has illustrated 11 cards for the Trading Card Game, all of which are associated with POKÉMON Detective Pikachu. A full list of cards illustrated by it can be found here.
Video games
Framestore produced the launch trailer for Pokémon Sword and Shield. The live-action trailer was filmed at a village in the Cotswolds, with CGI Pokémon animated into it.[3]
