Conia (Japanese: コニア Conia) is a trainer who belongs to the mysterious organization Explorers, and a recurring character in Pokémon Horizons: The Series.
In the anime
History
Conia debuted in HZ001 alongside the other members of the Explorers. After spotting Liko hiding on the roof, Conia alerted her teammates and joined them on the roof. When Friede from the Rising Volt Tacklers swoop in to defend Liko, Amethio stopped her and Zir from assisting. After Friede escaped with Liko in the next episode, her and the rest of the Explorers gave chase, broke through the airship's defenses, and threatened Liko to give herself up. Friede stopped them from leaving and battled Amethio once more, but they managed to escape after Liko's Sprigatito unleashed a Leafage strong enough to break the forcefield around the battlefield, taking it as a hostage in the process.
In HZ003, Conia grew fond of Sprigatito and gave it some food before being spotted by Amethio. Conia went shopping and was spotted by Murdock's Rockruff who alerted the Rising Volt Tacklers and chased Conia back to their hide out. Conia confronted Liko after she'd found Sprigatito and was disappointed that Sprigatito wanted to stay with Liko. Sending out her Skarmory to battle Liko, Sprigatito blinded her with Leafage, allowing Liko and Sprigatito to escape.
Character
Among the Explorers members, Conia appears to be the most ruthless and violent of the trio, going so far as to threaten Liko through Sprigatito to achieve her goals. In HZ003, Conia demonstrated a more lighter side as the group held Sprigatito hostage because of the effects of the Grass Cat Pokémon's scents, both because of her petting it and because she wanted to capture it for herself.
Conia has been shown to be quite loyal to Amethio, whether receiving instructions on how to proceed or not interfering with his actions.
