Trivia
- Although its pre-evolution is designed by James Turner, Barujiina is designed by Ken Sugimori himself. This makes the only evolved Pokémon who is based on someone's design to tie it up on its evolutionary spot.
- Barujiina can be seen as a counterpart to Wargle: Both are dual-typed Flying Pokémon that are described as eagles, are members of a two-stage evolutionary family who evolve from their basic form at level 54 and have a stat total of 510. They are both also members of a single-gender species (Barujiina is exclusively female, whereas Wargle is exclusively male).
- Their movesets are also substantially similar, sharing the same number of start moves and level-up moves, with all of their level-up moves occurring at the same levels. Many of their moves are either the same or share the same theme: At level 5 they both learn Fury Attack; at level 14 both learn a status move that provides a total of two levels of stat increase (Nasty Plot for Barujiina, and Claw Sharpen for Wargle); at level 23 they both learn a STAB variation of Swift (Barujiina learns Faint Attack, whereas Wargle learns Aerial Ace); at level 32 they learn Defog; at level 37 they both learn Tailwind; at level 41 they share Air Slash; at level 57 both learn Whirlwind, and at level 63 they learn Brave Bird.
Origin
Barujina is based on an Old World Vulture or the California Condor. Its design also bears resemblance to archetypical "Savages" or barbarians.
