The Level Ball (Japanese: レベルボール Level Ball) is a type of Poké Ball introduced in Generation II. It can be used to catch a wild Pokémon, being more likely to succeed the higher the player's Pokémon's level is than the wild Pokémon's.
It is one of Kurt's signature Apricorn Poké Balls, and is made from Red Apricorns.

Manual activation
When used from the Bag in a wild encounter, it attempts to catch the wild Pokémon with the following catch rate modifiers:
- 1× if the player's Pokémon is less than or equal to the level of the wild Pokémon
- 2× if the player's Pokémon is at a higher level, but less than double, the level of the wild Pokémon
- 4× if the player's Pokémon is more than double, but less than four times, the level of the wild Pokémon
- 8× if the player's Pokémon is at a level at least four times that of the wild Pokémon
In Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, due to what is seemingly a coding mistake the wild Pokémon's remaining HP and status are ignored when calculating the catch rate; only the wild Pokémon's level is used for calculation if using a Level Ball.
If used on an Ultra Beast, the catch rate modifier is instead always set to 410/4096× (~0.1×).
The Level Ball cannot be used in situations in which Poké Balls cannot be used, such as in wild battles with two or more opponents currently present or against a trial Pokémon. If used in a Trainer battle, the opposing Trainer will bat the ball away, wasting the player’s turn (as well as the ball prior to Generation IV).
Held item
Fling fails if the user is holding a Level Ball.
In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver only, Level Balls cannot be held. This is to prevent them being held by a Pokémon traded to Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, where the item does not exist.

- Main article: Level Ball (Next Destinies 89)
The Level Ball was introduced as an Item card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Black & White Series (the Japanese BW Era). It was first released in the Japanese Psycho Drive expansion and the English Next Destinies expansion, with artwork by 5ban Graphics. During the English XY Series (the Japanese XY Era), it was reprinted in the Japanese Bandit Ring expansion and the English Ancient Origins expansion with new artwork by Toyste Beach. During the English Sword & Shield Series (the Japanese Sword & Shield Era), it was reprinted again in the Japanese Rapid Strike Master expansion and the English Battle Styles expansion, as both a Regular card and a hyper rare card featuring new artwork by Ryo Ueda. This card allows the player to search their deck for a Pokémon that has 90 HP or less and put it in their hand.
