The Red Apricorn (Japanese: あかぼんぐり Red Bonguri) is a type of Apricorn introduced in Generation II. It can be used to make a Level Ball.

Red Apricorns appeared in Going Apricorn!, where Kurt sent Ash, Misty, and Brock to harvest some Apricorns. However, the group was caught up in one of Team Rocket's pitfall traps before they could even reach the Apricorn tree.

In Yikes, It's Yanma!, an Apricorn lottery was used to randomly decide which pairs of Gym Leaders from Kanto and Johto would face each other in an interregional exhibition tournament at Indigo Plateau. Blaine and Clair got a Red Apricorn each.
Trivia
- In Generations II and IV, due to item names being limited to 12 characters (including spaces), the Red Apricorn is the only Apricorn to have its color fully spelled out in its English name.
- Burnt Berry trees in Generation II are replaced by Red Apricorn trees in Generation IV.
