Twins (Japanese: ふたごちゃん Twins) are a pair of Pokémon Trainers that debuted in the Generation II games. They are two identical young girls. In Generation II, they fought in regular battles. In Generation III and beyond, they fight in Double Battles.
They use Pokémon that complement each other, such as Plusle and Minun or Ledyba and Spinarak, or two Pokémon of the same species, such as a pair of Clefairy or a pair of Spinda. In Generation II, while impossible to have Double Battles, the Pokémon to be first sent into battle would vary depending on the Twin faced by the player.

While not appearing as a pair, Hugh's sister's appearance is heavily based on a Twin from Unova, as this is her game counterpart's overworld sprite. Unlike the sprite, her hair color is matches that of her brother.

Trivia
- Because of how battle messages are formatted in the Generation II games, a grammatical error occurs where the game says "Twins [Name]&[Name] wants to battle!" and "Twins [Name]&[Name] was defeated."
- Even though the twins don't fight in Double Battles in Generation II, they still have two Pokémon that are very similar or complete counterparts like in future generations.
- In Pokémon Crystal, the pre- and post-battle text of Twins Lea & Pia leave off their names, making it unsure of which twin is which. The same carried over for their Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver counterparts, Kay and Tia. However, this is not a mistake, because Kay and Tia ask the player to guess which one is Tia and which is Kay before the battle, and say which one they are after being defeated.
- Until Generation IV, all Twins only have a vision range of one tile and remain static, sometimes requiring layout changes to force trainers into battle with them. This is due to the inability to move both sprites together when they spot the player.
- In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, Twins do not spot the player even from only one tile away; the player must talk to them to initiate a battle with them.
- The fact that all twins in the core series games are girls possibly refers to the fact that identical female twins are more common than male.
