A Psychic (Japanese: サイキッカー Psychicer) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation I games. They were originally only male, but in Generation III, female Psychics started to appear. They are depicted as boys or girls levitating Poké Balls with their psychokinetic powers.

They obviously specialize in Psychic-type Pokémon, and also in Ghost-type Pokémon in Generations IV and V.

In the TCG

Psychic is a card from the Aquapolis expansion of the TCG. It was erroneously translated as Seer in the English release. The following is a listing of cards featuring Psychic.

In the anime

A Psychic in the anime

A number of Psychics were seen in the Saffron City Gym in Abra and the Psychic Showdown.

Another Psychic appeared much later in Glory Blaze! as one of the participants of the Hearthome City Tag Battle Competition where he was partnered with a Black Belt and faced Ash and Paul in the quarter-finals. Despite the two working well as a team, they were unable to contend against the experienced trainers and were knocked out.

Psychic's Metagross
Metagross
The Psychic used his Metagross against Ash's Turtwig and Paul's Chimchar, partnering it up with the Black Belt's Zangoose. The Psychic trained his Metagross in order to be able to use quick attacks, as well as teaching it Magnet Rise in order to protect it from Ground-type moves. Despite its power and speed, Metagross was defeated by Chimchar's Flamethrower after it had increased its fire-power thanks to Zangoose's Fire Blast.

Metagross's known moves are Bullet Punch, Magnet Rise and Psychic.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure!

In Find Munchlax!!, a Psychic is one of the three Trainers searching for Munchlax. She uses her psychic powers to sense Munchlax's presence but only manages to find Hareta.
