"Pokérap GS", also known as "Johto Pokérap", is the second Pokérap to be made by 4Kids Entertainment for the Pokémon anime. It was made to feature 99 of the 100 Generation II Pokémon, the exception being Celebi. It is available on the Totally Pokémon CD, as well as the Pokémon X CD. It was one of the four ringtones available on the Pokémon Mobile service.

A short version of the song is used as the opening theme of Pokémon Chronicles and is credited as "Pokémon Chronicles Theme" by Joe Garrity, John Loeffler, and John Siegler. However, the Pokémon Chronicles theme is used in all Toonami Jetstream airings of said series instead.

The full version of the Pokérap was aired once on Kids' WB! when Hot Matches! first premiered. The full version was included as a bonus feature on the original release of the Spell of the Unown: Entei DVD.

Trivia

Porygon2 in the Pokérap GS
  • After the premiere of Hot Matches! ended, an eyecatch using the same visuals as the eyecatch for Pokémon Karaokemon was played. Instead of announcing the new Pokérap, however, it has no voiceover, only music. Instead, the announcement came immediately afterward in a bumper narrated by Kids' WB announcer Kevin Michael Richardson, stating "Don't dance away! The world premiere of the all-new Pokérap is in just a few moments."
  • The version aired after Hot Matches! uses different visuals for certain parts of the video, particularly when "Pokémon" is spelled out. While the version included as a bonus feature on the Spell of the Unown: Entei DVD simply features the individual letters from the Pokémon logo on a black or yellow screen, the TV version has the letters in various fonts popping up in scenes from anime episodes.
  • The credits included with the Pokérap GS as a bonus feature on the Spell of the Unown: Entei DVD release say "... and will be added to the end of Season 4 TV episodes ...", which means that it was originally planned to be included with TV airings of the fourth season of the anime.
  • The Pokérap GS marks the only post-EP038 appearance of Porygon2 in the anime before Kyurem VS. The Sword of Justice.
  • While Celebi was omitted, the space where the lyrics say "Pokémon!" instead of something rhyming with Togepi implies this is where it was meant to be placed.
  • If one was to rearrange the Pokérap so all of the Pokémon are in National Pokédex order, Espeon and Remoraid would remain in their positions in the song.
  • 30 of the 99 images used when the Pokémon names were said were from episode or movie (in the case of Slowking and Lugia) scenes, the rest were stock art. The most notable omission of an anime clip in lieu of stock art is Togepi, who at the time had featured in nearly every episode since its debut, 67 episodes before the Johto saga began.
