Harrison (Japanese: ハヅキ Hazuki) is a character from the Pokémon anime. He began his journey in Littleroot Town, Hoenn, and competed in the Silver Conference.

History

He first appeared in Pop Goes the Sneasel. Along with Ash and his friends, Harrison tried to ward off a wild Sneasel that was guarding the sacred Ho-Oh flame. Harrison promised that he would capture it. Using his Blaziken, he did just that.

After many cameos during the qualifying rounds of the Silver Conference, Harrison appeared in Can't Beat the Heat, where he and Ash began their six-on-six battle. It continued in Playing with Fire and Johto Photo Finish. In the latter episode, Harrison defeated Ash, but went on to lose to Jon Dickson.

It was Harrison who convinced Ash to go to the Hoenn region. He told Ash about Professor Birch and all the Pokémon that Ash had probably never seen before.

Following the Silver Conference, Harrison went to Kanto to participate in the Indigo League.

Pokémon

This is a listing of Harrison's known Pokémon:

Harrison's Houndoom
Houndoom
Harrison's Houndoom was his first revealed Pokémon, and appears to be his main Pokémon, often seen walking beside its Trainer.

It was first seen in Pop Goes The Sneasel, listening to the story of Ho-Oh's Sacred Flame and joined Harrison and the others when they went to retrieve it from a territorial Sneasel. It jumped in to battle Sneasel's Machop crony, repelling it with Flamethrower. On the second attempt, it used Headbutt to take down Machoke, then caught it on its horns and threw it over the hill, out of range of the battle with Sneasel.

During Harrison's battle with Ash, it defeated Ash's powerful Snorlax by Countering Hyper Beam back onto it. It then had a huge advantage over Ash's Bayleef, roasting Razor Leaf with Flamethrower. However, Bayleef cunningly used Vine Whip to muzzle Houndoom and prevent it from using Flamethrower or Bite. Bayleef then threw Houndoom onto the ground and Body Slammed it, taking it out of the match.

It was last seen losing to Jon Dickson's Rhyhorn. As Harrison's final Pokémon, Harrison was eliminated from the tournament.

Houndoom's known moves are Flamethrower, Headbutt, Counter and Bite.

Harrison's Sneasel
Sneasel
Harrsion's Sneasel first appeared in Pop Goes The Sneasel. It was a wild Pokémon who, with a Machop and Machoke was blocking people from accessing Ho-Oh's flame. It first appeared when it threatened Team Rocket, savaging Arbok and defeating Meowth in a single hit. It then ordered its cronies to send Team Rocket blasting off. It later attacked Ash as he reached the temple, and savagely fought his Totodile, interrupting its dance with a pair of Slash attacks. It dodged Water Gun and used Faint Attack and Shadow Ball to knock it out. Team Rocket made a bumbling attempt to capture Sneasel, but Meowth's bitterness at being replaced caused the plan to fall apart and they defeated themselves. Harrison then ordered Blaziken into battle, knocking it out with a Fire Punch to the face. Harrison threw a Poké Ball and captured Sneasel.

Despite being new to his team, Harrison trusted its strength enough to use it in the Silver Conference, where it first defeated a Machamp defeated it, despite the type disadvantage. In Can't Beat the Heat!, it fought against Ash's Pikachu as Harrison's second Pokémon. It easily used its speed to dodge Thunderbolt and took Pikachu out with Metal Claw. It then fought a rematch with Totodile, who learned from Pikachu's mistake and instead bit down on Metal Claw. It then danced around whilst thrashing Sneasel against the ground. A powerful blow from Totodile's tail eliminated Sneasel, causing Totodile to dance in celebration.

Sneasel's known moves are Fury Swipes, Slash, Faint Attack, Shadow Ball, Quick Attack and Metal Claw.
