Charizardite X

The Charizardite X (Japanese: リザードナイトX Lizardonite X) is a type of held item introduced in Generation VI. It is the Mega Stone that allows Charizard to Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X.

Effect
In battle
If held by a Charizard (or is present in the player's BagPE), the Charizardite X allows it to Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X if its Trainer has a Key Stone. A Trainer can only Mega Evolve one Pokémon per battle (or only have one Mega-Evolved Pokémon at any given momentZA).
As a Mega Stone, it is unaffected by item-negating effects (such as Embargo and Klutz). Item-manipulating effects (such as Trick and Fling) cannot give or remove a Charizardite X from Charizard.
Outside of battle
If held by a Charizard, the Charizardite X allows it to Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X when it performs a Spectacular Talent during a Pokémon Contest Spectacular if its Trainer has a Key Stone. Charizard will remain a Mega Charizard X until the Talent Round ends.

Pokémon Shuffle
In Pokémon Shuffle, the Charizardite X allows the player to Mega Evolve Charizard and Shiny Charizard to Mega Charizard X.
The player can obtain the Charizardite X by reaching Trainer rank 26. It is also available on Week 23 of the event rotation
The Charizardite X was also available as a prize during the Mega Charizard X competitive stage during the game's live service period:
- February 23 to March 1, 2016 (3DS only)
- August 30 to September 6, 2016 (3DS and Mobile)
- August 2 to 8, 2017 (3DS and Mobile)
- January 2 to 9, 2018 (3DS and Mobile) (Boss was Shiny version)

Alain once owned a Charizardite X that he obtained from Lysandre along with his Mega Ring, giving it to his Charizard to wear around its neck. After realizing Lysandre's true intentions and the error of his own ways, Alain disposed of the Charizardite X sometime before Till We Compete Again!, promising to start from a clean slate.
Pokémon Journeys: The Series
In Curtain Up! Fight the Fights!, Alain was revealed to have acquired a new Charizardite X.
Pokémon Origins
In File 2: Cubone, Mr. Fuji gave Red a Mega Stone and a Key Stone, although he did not tell Red what they truly were, merely saying that he would find out soon enough. In File 4: Charizard, during Red's battle against Mewtwo, one of the stones was revealed to be a Charizardite X from Kalos. Together, it and the Key Stone allowed Red's Charizard to Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X and weaken Mewtwo to a point where it could be caught.

In Pocket Monsters XY: The Legend of the Pokémon Dragon King, Akira owns both a Charizardite X and a Charizardite Y.
Pokémon Adventures
X & Y arc
In Chesnaught Protects, X's Charmeleon, Salamè, was revealed to keep a Charizardite X hidden within his tail flame, explaining his habit of holding onto his tail. After evolving into Charizard, he became able to use the stone to Mega Evolve into Mega Charizard X.
