The Aerodactylite (Japanese: プテラナイト Pteranite) is a type of held item introduced in Generation VI. It is the Mega Stone that allows Aerodactyl to Mega Evolve into Mega Aerodactyl.

Effect

In battle

If held by an Aerodactyl (or is present in the player's Bag^PE), the Aerodactylite allows it to Mega Evolve into Mega Aerodactyl if its Trainer has a Key Stone. A Trainer can only Mega Evolve one Pokémon per battle (or only have one Mega-Evolved Pokémon at any given moment^ZA).

As a Mega Stone, it is unaffected by item-negating effects (such as Embargo and Klutz). Item-manipulating effects (such as Trick and Fling) cannot give or remove an Aerodactylite from Aerodactyl.

Outside of battle

If held by an Aerodactyl, the Aerodactylite allows it to Mega Evolve into Mega Aerodactyl when it performs a Spectacular Talent during a Pokémon Contest Spectacular if its Trainer has a Key Stone. Aerodactyl will remain a Mega Aerodactyl until the Talent Round ends.

In Pokémon Shuffle, the Aerodactylite allows the player to Mega Evolve Aerodactyl.

The player can obtain the Aerodactylite by defeating Mega Aerodactyl in Stage 180 found on Wacky Workshop.

The Aerodactylite enables the following Mega Evolution:
