(Japanese: デント Dento) is the Gym Leader of Sanyou City's Gym. He is also a Pokémon Sommelier, or waiter, from the Isshu region.
In the games
Dento will appear in Pokémon Black and White as the Gym Leader of Sanyou City's gym. This gym will be the first to be challenged by the player. Its official name, as well as Dento's preferred Pokémon type, are yet to be announced.
In the anime
A silhouette of Iris and him were shown after DP183 aired July 1, 2010. The two were officially revealed during a trailer for the anime shown on Pokémon Sunday exactly one month later. He will appear as a main character in the Best Wishes series of the Pokémon anime.
Character
He is a Pokémon Sommelier who can see the compatibility between a Pokémon and its Trainer. He is said to have a lot of knowledge on Pokémon.
