Trivia

Origin

It is based on a skunk, likely a hog-nosed skunk. It also bears resemblance to a cat of some sort, which is fitting as baby skunks are called kits or kittens.

Name origin

Stunky's name comes from the words skunk or "stunk" and stinky. Skunpoo's name comes from the words skunk and pyoo, which is what someone says when something stinks.

In other languages

  • German: Skunkapuh - From skunk and puh! ("whew!"; exclamation when smelling a disgusting scent).
  • French: Moufouette - From moufette (striped skunk) and fouetter, slang for "to stink".
  • Korean: 스컹뿡 Seukeongppung
  • Chinese (Taiwan): 臭鼬噗 Chòu Yòu Pū - 臭鼬 refers to skunk, while 噗 (to puff) is the transliteration of "poo" in its Japanese name.
