In the anime
This "Walking Tropical Rain Forest" first appeared in EP043. Ash was hypnotised by Melvin's Exeggcute and was forced to capture several Exeggcutor for Melvin. Unfortunetly, all of the Exeggutor used Hypnosis on each other and they went on a rampage.
Ash battled an Exeggutor in EP075. Despite the Type Disadvantage, Ash's Krabby defeated Mandy's Exeggutor, evolving into Kingler in the process.
In EP103, Rudy used an Exeggcutor against Ash's Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur managed to defeat it, but it also saved the Coconut Tree Pokémon from falling down a cliff.
