Mud Sport changes the floor status to Mud Sport, which reduces the damage of Electric moves. In the Rescue Team and Explorers series, Mud Sport lasts for 10-11 turns and halves damage taken from Electric-type moves. From Gates to Infinity, the status lasts 20 turns and weakens Electric-type moves by 30%.

However, it can still be useful in Double Battles to help allies; starting in Generation VI, it is also useful in Single Battles due to the effect lasting after switching out.
* In Generation III, the status screen erroneously states that the move has 100% accuracy, even though it targets the field as a whole (thus it ignores accuracy and evasion checks).

Mud Sport (Japanese: どろあそび Mud Game) is a non-damaging Ground-type move introduced in Generation III.
Effect
Generations III and IV
Mud Sport reduces the base power of Electric-type moves by 50% on both sides in battle. The effects last until the user switches out.
Mud Sport can be used as the first move of a Pokémon Contest combination, causing Mud-Slap, Water Gun, and Water Sport to score double the normal appeal if used in the next turn. It can also be used to finish a combination, with the user gaining 4 bonus appeal points if Mud-Slap or Water Sport was used in the previous turn.
Generation V
Mud Sport now reduces the base power of Electric-type moves by 67% on both sides in battle.
Generations VI and VII
Mud Sport is now active for five turns, even if the user switches out.
If powered up by a Groundium Z into Z-Mud Sport, the user's Special Defense stat is raised by one stage.
Generation VIII onwards
Mud Sport cannot be selected in a battle.

Mud Sport changes the floor status to Mud Sport, which reduces the damage of Electric-type moves. In the Rescue Team and Explorers series, Mud Sport lasts for 10-11 turns and halves damage taken from Electric-type moves. From Gates to Infinity, the status lasts 20 turns and weakens Electric-type moves by 30%.

Trivia
- Many Ground-type Pokémon can learn Mud Sport by leveling up despite already being immune to Electric-type attacks, making the effects of this move useless for them in Single Battles prior to Generation VI unless their type is changed. However, it can still be useful in Double Battles to help allies; starting in Generation VI, it is also useful in Single Battles due to the effect lasting after switching out.
- In Generation III, the status screen erroneously states that the move has 100% accuracy, even though it targets the field as a whole (thus it ignores accuracy and evasion checks).
