Solo events^{[note 1]} (Japanese: ソロバトルイベント Solo Battle Event) are a type of limited-time event in Pokémon Masters EX. As the name suggests, these events feature only single-player battles. They can focus on a specific type or region, or particular sync pairs or theme skills. Unlike story events, solo events place more emphasis on the battles than the story, with most solo events containing only one or two story areas. In almost all solo events, players earn event vouchers by completing single-player battles, which can be used to exchange for items in the shop. In addition, most solo events have a story area that can only be unlocked by obtaining a certain number of event vouchers.

The event Flying Types Incoming! did not feature an exchange shop, with the only rewards available being completion and battle rewards. Fashion Week! also did not feature an exchange shop, with the rewards coming from event missions that were added daily.

Flying Types Incoming!

This event ran from April 14 to 28, 2020. Players must obtain permits by battling in "Flying Types Incoming" battles, and then can use 100 permits to battle against the "Flying Type Masters". The event had three different levels of difficulty. The Flying Types Incoming battles could be battled twice per day.

Morty's Secret Ghost Training

This event ran from July 15 to 28, 2020. The "Morty Spotlight Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Morty and Drifblim during the duration of the event.

Battles rewarded players with Event Voucher B, which could be redeemed in the shop.

This event featured the Full-Force Battle, where players were challenged to defeat a large group of opponents. Similar to the Legendary Arena, players could use multiple teams with a limited number of sync pairs, with the opponents' health carrying over between rounds and with previously used pairs unable to be used again until the challenge is reset. Medals could be earned by completing specific missions.

This event reran from May 23 to June 6, 2022. The "Triple Feature Spotlight Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Morty and Drifblim, Allister and Gengar, and Fantina and Mismagius during the duration of the event. Battles rewarded players with Event Voucher D, which could be redeemed in the shop. The player could battle using Morty and Drifblim to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; Allister and Gengar, Fantina and Mismagius, or Phoebe and Dusclops/Dusknoir to obtain +0.4× bonus vouchers; and any unlisted Ghost-type sync pairs to obtain 0.2× bonus vouchers.

This event ran from August 28 to September 14, 2020. The "Sygna Suit Red Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Red and Charizard from the beginning of the event to September 28, 2020; the "Sygna Suit Leaf Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Leaf and Venusaur from the beginning of the event to September 28, 2020; and the "Sygna Suit Blue Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Blue and Blastoise from the beginning of the event to October 30, 2020*.

Battles rewarded players with Event Vouchers C, which could be redeemed in the shop. Extra vouchers were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

This event ran from January 14 to 30, 2021. The "May Spotlight Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting May and Mudkip during the duration of the event.

Battles rewarded players with Event Voucher D, which could be redeemed in the shop. Additionally, Challenge Pasio's Trainers: Part 4 could only be challenged once per day. Players could include sync pairs from Hoenn in their party to obtain bonus vouchers.

Special Day with the Guys

This event ran from March 14 to 31, 2023. It was focused on male Trainers of all ages. The "Triple Feature Charming Poké Fair Scout" let players recruit male Trainers exclusively and gave players an increased chance of recruiting Raihan (Anniversary 2022) and Flygon, Red and Snorlax, and Lucas and Dialga during the duration of the event.

Battles rewarded players with Event Voucher B, which could be redeemed in the shop. Additionally, Daily Extreme Battle 1 could only be challenged once per day. Unlike most solo events, this event did not feature any sync pair bonuses.

While not named as such, this event featured a battle akin to previous Full-Force Battles, where players were challenged to defeat a large group of opponents. Similar to the Legendary Arena, players could use multiple teams with a limited number of sync pairs, with the opponents' health carrying over between rounds and with previously used pairs unable to be used again until the challenge is reset.

Plot

Raihan decides that he wants to take a selfie with the living legend, Red. He and Gordie go to ask the player, who is hanging out with Hau and Hugh, for help. Since Red is notoriously reclusive, the player comes up with the idea to stage battles so exciting that Red will be drawn out to join them. They recruit Lucas, Professor Sycamore, Wally, and Silver to help them out as well, and the whole group goes to the arena to start battling. After a few rounds of battles, Red finally appears and silently challenges them to a battle.

After battling Red, Raihan asks him to stay a minute and take a selfie with them. Silver, who only agreed to join because he wanted to battle Red, tries to leave before the photo is taken, but Hau and Hugh stop him. Raihan then takes a nice selfie of the nine guys and the player.

Fashion Week!

This event ran from May 3 to 17, 2023. It was focused on Trainers with certain Fashion theme skills. The "Fashion Week Limited Scout" let players recruit Trainers with fashion theme skills during the duration of the event.

Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using specific theme skills, earning Gems. New missions were added over the first six days of the event. Unlike most solo events, this event did not feature any sync pair bonuses.

Each day a new mission was added, a group of sync pairs wearing a specific fashion item had a chance to appear in the Pokémon Center and have a conversation. After all the missions had been added, all six groups had a chance of appearing.

Plot

Lear is planning to host a fashion week on Pasio. However, he's having trouble deciding what kind of outfits to feature. Sawyer suggests that they feature models with well-trained bodies, which Lear is a bit skeptical about because it would put the focus on muscles, not fashion. He ultimately decides to let Sawyer pitch his idea to everyone else on the island and get them on board, though he warns Sawyer that he might have to battle the people who object to the idea.

Sawyer finds Brawly and Bea on the beach and explains the situation to them. They agree that muscles and well-trained bodies are important, so they agree to help him, and the three of them prepare to take on their fashion challengers.

Kris's Worries

This event ran from June 10 to 24, 2023. It was focused on Sygna Suit Kris and Suicune and Sygna Suit Morty and Ho-Oh. The "Sygna Suit Morty Poké Fair Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Sygna Suit Morty and Ho-Oh from June 8 to July 2, 2023.

Battles rewarded players with Event Vouchers S, which could be redeemed in the shop. Additionally, Daily Extreme Battle 1 could only be challenged once per day. The player could battle using Sygna Suit Kris and Suicune or Sygna Suit Morty and Ho-Oh to obtain +0.6× bonus vouchers; and any other sync pair with the Johto theme skill to obtain +0.2× bonus Event Vouchers.

Plot

The player and Morty run into Kris, who is looking for her Suicune. It disappeared on her suddenly, and she doesn't know where it went. Morty and the player volunteer to help her look, and he suggests that they look for it around places with water. First, they check the fountain in town, but Whitney and Jasmine haven't seen it there. Next, they check the beach, but Clair and Pryce have been training there for a while and haven't seen it, either. Then, they check the waterfall in the mountains, but Falkner and Bugsy haven't seen it either. They offer to have their Pokémon help search for it. Falkner admits that he's jealous of Morty, since he was able to partner with such a beautiful bird Pokémon as Ho-Oh, and Morty is optimistic that Falkner will have a legendary encounter of his own someday.

Finally, Morty, Kris, and the player find Suicune in the village with Evelyn and Nita. Evelyn explains that it suddenly approached her and Entei, and Morty hypothesizes that it was interested in her because she owns Entei, Raikou, and a Suicune of her own. Kris apologizes for the trouble, but Evelyn and Nita assure her that it was well-behaved and fun to be around. Kris asks Suicune to not keep leaving her behind, but Suicune wanders off, ignoring her completely.
