Captivate (Japanese: ゆうわく Allure) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

Captivate lowers the Special Attack stat of the target by two stages, if it is the opposite gender. It will fail if the target has the ability Oblivious, is same gender as the user, or either or both Pokémon are genderless.

Trivia

  • Mew is the only genderless Pokémon that can learn this move: Mew is able to learn any TM, and can learn it by TM78.
  • It is likely that Nincada cannot learn Captivate due to the fact that Shedinja would then learn it, and it is genderless. The same happens with Attract.
