Elite Four Tag Battle

The subject of this article has no official English name. The name currently in use is a fan translation of the Japanese name.

(Japanese: 四天王タッグバトル Big Four Tag Battle) is an animated series-exclusive event that takes place at Naranja Academy. The event was featured in Showdown! The Paldea Elite Four and Liko vs. Rika! Towards the Battle's End. It is a friendly competition created by Clavell and arranged by Geeta to determine the skills of Trainers.

Competition

After completing their basic aptitude tests, students are paired with the Gym Leader that they were assigned with and battle against one of the Elite Four members. If a student's Pokémon is defeated, the battle is considered a loss in the Elite Four member's favor, but if the Elite Four member loses even a single Pokémon, the student wins. Gym Leaders are not allowed to Terastallize during this battle. If one Pokémon from either sides are unable to battle, the battle turns into a single battle.
