Extreme Pokémon Race
The Extreme Pokémon Race is an animated series-exclusive competition that was featured in Extreme Pokémon!.
In the past, people typically used Pokémon like Tauros to pull carts and make arduous journeys. This normal mode of transport soon became the competitive sport of "Extreme Pokémon", which is particularly popular in the small Johto town of Eggseter.
Each Trainer puts their partner Pokémon in a leash and collar, allowing the Pokémon to pull them on a skateboard. The difficult course has competitors cross the winding Eggseter Valley to the Shelby Ranch as the pit stop to pick up a dummy Pokémon Egg. Next participants must race back to the starting mark with the Egg in hand to complete the race. The prize is a Golden Poké Ball trophy for the winning Trainer and a medal for the winning Pokémon. Ash and his rival Gary entered the race, with Ash ultimately winning with his Bayleef.
