To enter the PML, players must collect at least five Badges by defeating the PML Leaders located in Pasio.[1] When recruiting a sync pair, the player can unlock a sync pair story.[2]. The player also gain access to a Poryphone that contains various uses that are unknown at the moment.
Sync pairs
Sync pairs gain experience and level up by winning battles. Leveling up increases a sync pair's stats. Sync pairs have level caps, but the player can unlock these level caps using items; for example, Iris and Haxorus initially have a level cap of 30, but this can be unlocked to increase their level cap to 45, then again to increase it to 60. Reaching certain levels can unlock Pokémon Evolution; for example, at level 30, Barry's Piplup can evolve into Prinplup, after which it can later evolve into Empoleon, which then causes it to learn the sync moves Late Fee and Bubble Beam.
Sync pairs may have locked moves. These moves can be unlocked by using Training Machines, a kind of item.
