Trivia

  • Heatran is the first Legendary Pokémon that can either be male or female.
  • No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Heatran.

Origin

Name origin

Its name comes from the words heat and possibly transfer. The "doran" in its Japanese name can also be read as "dran", so it may be a combination of "heat" and "dragon".
