Azumarill first appeared in EP153. A female one was used in a circus. Ash's Totodile had a crush on her. Of course, the Azumarill already had a boyfriend of sorts; a Golduck.
Jackson used an Azumarill against Ash in the Silver Conference in EP268.
There is an Azumarill that also live in Millenium Town.
Paul's Azumarill debuted in DP015. It was used to battle at the Kurogane Gym. However, since Azumarill lost, Paul gave away the Aqua Rabbit to a passing trainer.

Name origin
Azumarill's name may be a combination of azure, a shade of blue, marine, of the water, and rill, a small
river or brook. Marill could also be a contraction of marine blue.
