Frost Cavern in the
anime
The Frost Cavern appeared in Over the Mountain of Snow!. Team Rocket tried to get shelter there, but were attacked and subsequently blasted off by an angry Abomasnow. Ash and his friends soon arrived at the same location, and discovered that Abomasnow was merely trying to protect a sick Snover inside the cave. The group then proceeded to split up into pairs in order to find ingredients for a medicine needed to cure Snover. Ash and Serena ventured deeper into the Frost Cavern to find Spring Moss, while Clemont and Bonnie explored its surrounding areas for Mountain Marigolds. When the two medical plants had been found, Clemont was able to mix them into a medicine that cured Snover.
The cavern appeared again in Till We Compete Again!, where Alain and Mairin visited it as a part of their Mega Stone research for Professor Sycamore.
The interior of the cavern is made of dark-blue ice as opposed to white ice from the games. The cavern also houses a hot spring at one of its deepest parts.
Trivia
- On the player's birthday, a special kind of weather known as diamond dust will be in effect outside of the cavern.
- Inside Frost Cavern has the same background music from Santalune Forest.
- Outside Frost Cavern has the same background music from Routes 15 and 16.
