Meteor Beam (Japanese: メテオビーム Meteor Beam) is a damage-dealing Rock-type move introduced in Generation VIII.
Effect
On the turn it is selected, Meteor Beam will raise the user's Special Attack by one stage, and the message "[User] is overflowing with space power!" will be shown. On the following turn, Meteor Beam will do damage (factoring in the Special Attack boost), PP will be deducted from it, and it will count as the last move used. Once Meteor Beam is selected, the user won't be able to switch out until it is disrupted or fully executed.
Sleep, freeze, partial trapping, and flinching will pause but not disrupt the duration of Meteor Beam.
If a Power Herb is held by the user, Meteor Beam can be executed in one turn.
Generation VIII
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
Meteor Beam cannot be selected in a battle.
Generation IX
Meteor Beam is programmed into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but cannot be selected in a battle as no available Pokémon can learn it. However, it can be called by Metronome.
