Pelipper (Japanese: ペリッパー Pelipper) is a dual-type Water/Flying Pokémon.
It evolves from Wingull starting at level 25.
Biology
Physiology
Pelipper has a white body with a yellow underside. Its feet, wing tips, and head crest are blue and its bill is large and yellow with a throat pouch hanging under it. Its has a stubby tail.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Pelipper can store a series of objects in their large, sturdy bill. They are also able to carry small creatures in it to protect them from predators.
Behavior
Pelipper searches for food while in flight by skimming the wave tops. When Pelipper spots prey, it dips its large bill into the sea to scoop up its numerous food items along with water in one motion. It then swallows everything in one big gulp.
Habitat
Pelipper live on steep cliffs that hang over the sea and that is where they build their nests.
Diet
- Main article: Pokémon food
Pelipper eats its prey from the ocean by dipping their bills into the water and scooping them up. It can be presumed by the context that its prey consists of fish or small aquatic creatures.
In the anime
Major appearances
In You Said a Mouthful, a Trainer named Anthony has a Pelipper that he used to challenge other trainers to battle it in an unofficial gym. Anthony was exposed as a cheater because he stuffed a bunch of Poké Balls with small Pokémon in them into the Pelipper's bill.
In Sky High Gym Battle, Winona used a Pelipper against Ash during the Gym Battle. This Pelipper had a unique way handling its weakness to Electrical attacks. It strikes the ground with Steel Wing, which would cause any Electric attack pass through it into the ground.
Minor appearances
Pelipper first appeared in Hoenn Alone!.
Georgio owns a Pelipper that he used to send a letter to Misty and chase Butch and Cassidy in A Date With Delcatty.
Juan has a Pelipper that appeared in The Great Eight Fate!.
A Pelipper also appeared in Pruning a Passel of Pals!.

Game data
NPC appearances
- Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire: Pelipper perches in the Sapphire Field and will stand upright for a while if the ball hits the button in front of it. During this time, Pelipper will swallow the ball in its beak if the ball goes into the coin loop. It will then either drop the ball over the Seedot bumpers or, if the button was flashing, send the player to the Sealeo Bonus Field.
- Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team: The Post Office in Pokémon Square is run by a group of Pelipper. The Pelipper can also be seen delivering the mail.

Trivia
- Pelipper, along with Poliwhirl, is available underleveled in the Sightseeing Pokéwalker route.
Origin
This Pokémon resembles a pelican.
Name origin
Pelipper's name is probably derived from pelican and skipper, a rank of sailor, or possibly "flipper" referring to its wings. It may also be a combination of "pelican" and "propeller", such as those used by submarines, due to its aquatic nature.
In other languages
- German: Pelipper
- French: Bekipan - From bec qui pend (beak that hangs). It also sounds like pélican (pelican).
- Korean: 패리퍼 Pelipper
- Chinese (Taiwan): 大嘴鷗 Dà Zuǐ Ōu - Literally "Big-mouthed gull".
