Spit Up (Japanese: はきだす Spit Up) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation III. The Pokémon who are able to learn this move are also able to learn the related move Stockpile and most of them also are able to learn the related move Swallow.

Contents

Effect

Generation III

This move will fail if the user has not used Stockpile. If Spit Up is used after Stockpiling, Spit Up inflicts damage to the target and has no secondary effect. After Spit Up is used, the Stockpile count will be reset.

The base power of Spit Up depends on the number of times Stockpile was used. The base power varies as follows:

  • One Stockpile = 100 base power
  • Two Stockpiles = 200 base power
  • Three Stockpiles = 300 base power

Generation IV and on

In addition to before, Spit Up also removes any Defense and Special Defense boosts gained through Stockpile.
