Charmeleon (Japanese: リザード Lizardo) is a Fire-type Pokémon.
Charmeleon comes with the Ability Blaze, which increases the power of Fire-type attacks by 50% once the Pokémon has less than one-third of its maximum HP.
Charmeleon evolves from Charmander starting at Level 16, and evolves into Charizard starting at Level 36.

Charmeleon are rare in the wild, but thrive in harsh enviroments such as craggy mountains and active volcanoes.
Diet

In the anime
Ash Ketchum's Charmander evolved into Charmeleon in March of the Exeggutor Squad. It quickly grew unruly and disobedient and evolved into Charizard soon after.
In The Crystal Onix, Mateo used a Charmeleon to make glass and battle the titular Crystal Onix.
The young Sammy Oak used a Charmeleon in Pokémon 4Ever.
Zippo, Ritchie's Charmander, evolved into a Charmeleon off-screen and was first seen in its evolved form in A Parent Trapped.
A Charmeleon also appeared under the ownership of a trainer named Jimmy in Judgement Day.
In the manga
In Pokémon Special, Green had a Charmeleon which had evolved from his Charmander. It has since evolved into Charizard.
In Pokémon Zensho, Satoshi has a Charmeleon that evolved from the Charmander he recieved from Professor Oak. It later evolves again into Charizard.

Charmeleon resembles a small dinosaur with some remnants of Charmander's salamander-like appearance.
Name origin
Charmeleon's name is a combination of the word char, to burn, and chameleon. Its Japanese name is the Katakana spelling of lizard.
