Walkthrough:Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl/Part 27

This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
These pages follow the remade Nintendo Switch iteration, not Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. The guide for those games can be found here.

Canalave City

Return to Canalave City after obtaining the National Pokédex.

Sailor Eldritch's son has been stricken with nightmares and cannot awaken. Go to his house near the pier on the Southwestern part of the town. Speak to both the child and the mother, then outside speak to Sailor Eldritch. He will offer to ferry you to Fullmoon Island to retrieve a Lunar Feather that can cure his son's affliction.

Fullmoon Island

Fullmoon Island is a small island accessible only from Sailor Eldritch in Canalave City after obtaining the National Pokédex. There is no tall grass on this island, and no wild Pokémon encounters.

Navigate through the forest to a clearing featuring a crescent-shaped pond. Here you will encounter Cresselia, the legendary Psychic-type Pokémon.

When you approach Cresselia, it will immediately flee and begin to roam throughout the routes of Sinnoh. You cannot battle or catch Cresselia on this island, you must track and pursue it as a roaming encounter, similar to Mesprit.

After Cresselia departs, a Lunar Feather appears in the clearing where it stood. Return this item to Sailor Eldritch's son in Canalave City to cure him of his nightmares.

Catching Cresselia

Similar to Mesprit, Cresselia is now roaming throughout Sinnoh and you need to chase it in order to battle it.

You can see where Cresselia is currently by looking at the Pokétch Marking App. Rather than trying to follow Cresselia, the simplest solution is to keep switching back and forth between a road with tall grasses and a town or another road that don't have a connecting gate. Keep switching in and out of the road while looking at the Marking App.

Once Cresselia is on the same road as you, go in the tall grass to have an encounter. Note that it will flee after the first turn, requiring you to repeat the process several times to lower its health.

Snowpoint Temple

Snowpoint Temple is an ancient shrine located in the northern reaches of Snowpoint City. This optional post-game location is home to Regigigas, a legendary Normal-type Pokémon. The temple is accessible only after obtaining the National Pokédex.

Structure and Navigation

The temple features six floors: one ground floor and five basement levels. The interior is filled with relatively simple ice sliding puzzles.

Regigigas Encounter

Regigigas resides on B5F, the deepest level of the temple.

To battle Regigigas, you must have Regirock, Regice, and Registeel in your party. These three legendary Pokémon can be caught in Ramanas Park. Without all three Regis, Regigigas will not engage you in battle.

Spring Path

Go to Route 214, and a little bit before reaching Valor Lakefront, turn East on Spring Path This brief passage connects to Sendoff Spring and becomes accessible after obtaining the National Pokédex. There are no wild Pokémon on this path, making it a simple transit route to reach the next destination.

Sendoff Spring

Sendoff Spring is a mysterious location in Sinnoh described as "the fourth lake of Sinnoh that was kept secret". The spring serves as the gateway to Turnback Cave, the lair of the legendary Giratina.

Turnback Cave

Turnback Cave is a maze-like cave located north of Sendoff Spring. This legendary cavern is home to Giratina, the Ghost/Dragon-type legendary Pokémon that exists in a distorted reality.

Turnback Cave features a randomized layout that changes each time you enter. You must navigate through three pillar rooms to reach Giratina's chamber. In each room, one random door leads to a pillar room, while the two others lead to a random non-pillar room. Taking the door from which you entered will take you back at the beginning. If you pass through 30 rooms without finding all three pillars, you will be returned to the entrance.

After reaching the third pillar room, all the exits will lead to Giratina in its Altered Forme.

Giratina is a powerful Ghost/Dragon-type with the Pressure ability, which causes opponents' moves to consume extra PP. Its signature move Shadow Force allows it to attack while avoiding damage on the turn it charges. Use Dark, Ghost, Ice, and Dragon-type moves for super-effective coverage. Bring Ultra Balls, Dusk Balls or Timer Balls for capture attempts. Apply Sleep or Paralysis status to increase capture chances significantly.

Hotel Grand Lake

Return to Valor Lakefront and Hotel Grand Lake. The resort features luxurious bungalows spread across terraced grounds, serving as a destination for post-game activities and rewards.

The Game Freak Director resides in the top left house of Hotel Grand Lake. Upon unlocking the National Pokédex, you will get the Catching Charm. You can also get the DS Sounds from the sound designer.

Outside, you can battle Morimoto who is in the pool and receive the Oval Charm once defeated.
