Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass—Part 1: Bubbly Basin (Japanese: 『ぽこ あ ポケモン エキスパンションパス』第1弾「ブクブクうみぞこの街」 Poco a Pokémon Expansion Pass—Part 1: Bubbling Undersea Town) is the first expansion in the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass. It introduces the Bubbly Basin and the Dive transformation, which allows Ditto to dive underwater. It was released on August 5, 2026.
It will be followed by Part 2 and Part 3 of the expansion.
Plot
After learning how to use Dive from a Manaphy, Ditto meets a Popplio at Bleak Beach, who has traveled there from its hometown located at the bottom of the sea. Learning how Ditto helped to improve Bleak Beach, Popplio invites them to do the same with its hometown. While interested by the idea of a new town, Professor Tangrowth can't travel underwater and settles on just keeping contact with Ditto while they explore the new area. Rather than traveling through the rough currents Popplio arrived through, Ditto and Popplio use a submerged gate beneath the sea at Bleak Beach to reach Popplio's town, Bubbly Basin. As with the previous areas, Ditto gets to work in cleaning up the town and building habitats for Pokémon. With the area's environment level improving, Popplio requests Ditto to build a beautiful ocean temple on a spot overlooking the town. Once sufficient materials and Pokémon have been assembled, the temple is constructed. After being finished, the Manaphy who taught Ditto to use Dive is found inside the temple, having come to rest there. As Manaphy is lacking a home, Popplio invites the Mythical Pokémon to stay in the town with them, which it happily agrees to.
