Location

Location of Withered Wasteland in Kanto.

Withered Wasteland (Japanese:パサパサこうやの街 Dry Wasteland Town) is the first available area in Pokémon Pokopia. It is what remains of Fuchsia City after a series of catastrophic weather anomalies ravaged the world and forced humans to take refuge in space.

Ditto is released from its Poké Ball in a cave on the southern part of the area, inhabited by Professor Tangrowth.

Withered Wasteland is connected to Palette Town to the west by a bridge, and Rocky Ridges to the north-west, the Sparkling Skylands to the north, and Bleak Beach to the east through gates.

Places of interest

Professor Tangrowth's home

Professor Tangrowth's home is a cave in the southern part of Withered Wasteland. Ditto is released from its Poké Ball and meets Professor Tangrowth here. The cave is a large open room with barren ordinary soil and dry field grass on the ground. On the western side of the cave is a wheelbarrow carrying a pile of lost relics collected by Professor Tangrowth. Visible are a Substitute doll, a Leppa Berry, a Poké Ball, a flower pot and several books. Next to the wheelbarrow are a piece of cloth with four photos on it, a mushroom lamp, and a straw bed.

Wasteland Pokémon Center

The Wasteland Pokémon Center is initially a pile of rubble on a wooden platform, having been torn down by extreme weather. It is eventually rebuilt by Ditto and a group of other Pokémon, after which a note can be found on the floor inside, alongside a counter with a cash register, a 3D printer, a healing machine, and some furniture.

Team R's hideout

Team R's hideout is a structure discovered by Professor Tangrowth and Ditto while exploring after breaking down a wall of cracked sandstone. It sits on a platform, appearing as a lighthouse covered in rust and sand. The machine attached to it leads the Team Initiation Challenge by playing voice recordings from a Team R grunt and giving out fake Gym Badges for completed requests. Magnemite is sleeping inside, appearing after the building is gone

Mysterious mural

The mysterious mural is a wall made up of tiles with symbols of all Unown forms. Mysterious slates can be placed on the tile with a symbol matching the one on its back.

Demographics

While there are no longer any humans living here, Withered Wasteland is inhabited by a handful of Pokémon before Ditto starts making new habitats.

Not counting Ditto and Squirtle, Withered Wasteland is initially inhabited by five Pokémon:

Additional Pokémon appear in the overworld as Ditto completes requests:

Message from the Poké Mart Magazines "We all know that everyone’s beloved music streaming
services are being forced to shut down one by one
due to the steep rise of server fees all over the world.

While music lovers are still mourning the loss of these
streaming services, it isn’t all bad news in the world
of music! It’s our pleasure to share a little about a
technological blast from the past—compact discs (CDs)!

CDs are cool little gadgets used by our great-great-
grandparents to listen to all their favorite music.
Each CD can hold a little over 10 songs, making it
easy to find a new favorite and listen to it over and
over again!

And that’s not all!

Each CD is a one-time purchase, which means that
there's no need for a subscription fee—no matter how
many times you listen!

Poké Mart is working hard to create a solid lineup of
CDs for music lovers to choose from. We hope to be
THE destination for all those who want music in their
life—now and forever!"
