Ice Beam (Japanese: れいとうビーム Freezing Beam) is a very damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generation I

Ice Beam does damage and has a 9.8% chance of freezing the opponent

Ice Beam can't freeze an opponent that has a Substitute or already has a major status ailment.

Generation II and on

Same as above, but has a 10% chance of freezing instead.

In the anime
