Schuyler (Japanese: ジョン John) is a minor supporting character who appeared in Spell of the Unown: Entei.
He works as Spencer Hale's assistant and is himself a Pokémon researcher. Schuyler alerted Spencer to a new chamber at a desert ruins site, though the sudden call interrupted Molly's playtime with her father. While at the site, Spencer mysteriously disappeared after contacting several Unown tiles.
Schuyler returned to the Hale's Greenfield manor to alert Molly of her father's disappearance, though David kindly volunteered to give her the sad news. He brought the box of Unown tiles with him, which Molly later tipped over and began playing with, which in turn led to the crystallization of Greenfield and Entei's arrival. That night, Schuyler, in his dressing gown, ran to find Molly playing with the Unown, this forced him and the Hale household staff to retreat to outside.
Schuyler, Lisa, Ash and his friends greeted Professor Oak and Delia as they arrived at the Greenfield Pokémon Center to assist in efforts to combat the ongoing crisis. He remained with Professor Oak and Lisa at the Pokémon Center to provide support and information while Ash and his friends went to confront Molly and retrieve Ash's mother. Eventually, he was forced to flee the Pokémon Center as the crystallization continued to approach and engulf the building.
After Entei helped to destroy the Unown and the crystallization receded, Schuyler alongside the others greeted Molly, Delia, Ash and his friends outside the Hale mansion. He later drove Spencer Hale back to his home after he reappeared at the desert ruins.
