The Pokémon poacher was a minor antagonist who appeared in Celebi: The Voice of the Forest.

In the movies

The Pokémon poacher, 40 years younger

Forty years prior to the events of Celebi: The Voice of the Forest, the Pokémon poacher was on the trail of an elusive Celebi in the forests near Arborville. He threw a capture device, but narrowly missed his target as it flew off. The pursuit caught Sam's attention and he intervened. Celebi entangled the poacher's Houndoom and Scyther in vines before sending itself and Sam forty years into the future to escape.

In the present day, the Pokémon poacher had continued to work in the hunter trade. His encounter with Celebi had become legendary and the Iron-Masked Marauder decided to pay him a visit to find out more information. The Pokémon poacher denied the veracity of the story, but the Iron-Masked Marauder was not convinced. He subsequently caught the poacher's Tyranitar in a Dark Ball. The now-corrupted Tyranitar unleashed a powerful Hyper Beam and destroyed the poacher's base of operations. In response, the poacher agreed to show the Iron-Masked Marauder where he saw Celebi, and the Iron-Masked Marauder went on to successfully capture Celebi.

Character

The poacher has a ruthless and selfish personality who likes to sell Pokémon to the highest bidder, which he has done for over forty years. He uses his Houndoom and Scyther to track down and exhaust the target, while he follows the pursuit on his motorcycle. The poacher keeps his catches out in the open air and trapped in confined cages with metal bars.
