Omastar (Japanese: オムスター Omstar) is a Rock/Water-type Pokémon.
Biology
Omastar is one of the fossil pokemon no longer found, or known of, in the wild. Their remains are found preserved as a helix fossil but so far helix fossils have only been found in the Kanto and Sinnoh regions. These fossils can then be resurrected at museums.
Ressurected Omanytes and Omastars have been observed to use the many gas filled chambers in their helix shell to remain buoyant once in the water column. They regulate their height by evacuating gases through a siphuncle.
Omanytes and Omastars are thought to be at least distantly related to Octillerys and share some common features including tentacles and a mantle.

Behavior
Recent psychological test undertaken in the Hoenn region show that some Pokemon do not take lightly to being ressurected being that they have lived out their lives before and then died only to be ressurected for Pokemon trainers. Although most fossil pokemon seem to relish at being given another chance at life others react badly, attacking scientists and civilians upon resurrection. More study is needed in this area.
Habitat
Although no longer extant aside from when they are ressurected at museums in Kanto and Sinnoh it is thought that Omastar would have lived high in the water column feeding on fish pokemon as well as crushing up pokemon similar to Krabbys and Kinglers with it's sharp beak in shallower waters.
Diet
Main article: Pokémon food
In the anime
Omastar first appeared in EP046, alongside all the other Generation I Fossil Pokémon. They were sleeping under Grandpa Canyon until a dynamite blast woke them up. The Water/Rock-typed Fossil Pokémon chased Ash Ketchum and Team Rocket until Aerodactyl showed up and scared them off.
Omastar also appeared in EP163, alongside its pre-evolved from; Omanyte. These Pokémon were discovered to be living in the Ruins of Alph, but they moved into a museum.
Dr. Yung uses a Mirage Omastar in The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon.
