Defog (Japanese: きりばらい Fog Wipe) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move, introduced in Generation IV. It is HM05 in this generation.
Defog cannot be used outside of battle without the Pastoria City Gym badge in Diamond and Pearl and the Hearthome City Gym badge in Platinum.
Effect
In battle
Defog clears away fog and in-battle obstacles on the target's side of the field, including Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard, Mist, as well as Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Stealth Rock present on the target's side of the field. It also lowers the target's Evasion one stage.
Out of battle
Defog clears away fog from the area. The effect lasts until the player leaves the area.
