Finneon (Japanese: ケイコウオ Keikouo) is a Template:Type2 Pokémon.
It evolves into Lumineon starting at level 31.
Biology
Physiology
Finneon is a small fish Pokémon with a football-shaped body. The bottom half of its body is light-blue while the top half is black. A purple stripe runs across Finneon's horizontal length. Finneon has small blue pectoral fins, two black oval-shaped dorsal fins and purple eyes. Finneon's most notable feature is the pair of caudal fins that resemble a pair of blue butterfly wings with purple spots. Because of its wing-like fins, it is known as "The Beautifly of the Sea".
Gender differences
The bottom lobes of a female's tail fin are bigger than a male's.
Special abilities
Finneon can use various Template:Type2 attacks such as Water Gun and Surf as well as Ice Beam and Blizzard. To coincide with the fact that Finneon looks as if it has a pair of butterfly wings, it can learn Silver Wind, Gust and U-turn.
Behavior
Finneon travel in schools, sometimes grouping with Lumineon.
Habitat
Finneon live in bodies of water such as creeks, rivers, lakes, seas, and oceans.

Trivia
Origin
Finneon's large tail fins are similar to the Freshwater butterflyfish, and they also resemble wings of actual butterflies. It also resembles a Neon tetra or a Cardinal tetra.
Name Origin
Finneon's name is a combination of "fin", and "neon". The name Keikouo is a portmanteau of the words 蛍光 keikō, fluorescence, and 魚 uo, fish.
In other languages
- German: Finneon
- French: Ecayon - From écaille (scale) and rayon (ray).
- Korean: 형광어 Hyeonggwang-eo
- Chinese (Taiwan and Hong Kong): 螢光魚 Yíng Guāng Yú - 螢光 (light of the firefly) may be derived from 熒光 Yíngguāng (fluorescence). The last character means fish.
