Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. (Japanese: 株式会社スパイク・チュンソフト Kabushikigaisha Spike Chunsoft), formerly Chunsoft Co., Ltd. (Japanese: チュンソフト Chunsoft), is a Japanese video game developer specializing in console RPGs. Spike Chunsoft is the developer for the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series.

Chunsoft was founded by Koichi Nakamura, a video game designer originally from Enix. Its name was taken from Chun, a character that appeared in Nakamura's first video game, Door Door.

On April 1, 2012, Chunsoft was merged with Spike, and the company name is now Spike Chunsoft. It is currently owned by Dwango, a subsidiary of Kadokawa Corporation.

Pokémon strategy guides

A number of Japanese-language strategy guides for the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series were published and edited by the pre-merger Chunsoft.

Spike Chunsoft is credited as Spike Chunsoft. as an illustrator for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Spike Chunsoft. has illustrated 1 card for the TCG, Rescue Team DX's Pikachu, a Japanese-exclusive promotional card released to promote Rescue Team DX.

Notable non-Pokémon games

In addition to the games in the greater Mystery Dungeon series, Spike Chunsoft has also developed for series such as Dragon Quest. It was the developer for several critically acclaimed visual novels such as Otogirisō, 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and its sequel Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, and the Danganronpa series.
