History
Charcadet and Amethio meeting for the first time
Pre-series
In Charcadet's Wish, it was revealed that Amethio met Ceruledge as a Charcadet during a trip with his family on an island near the city of Levincia. Since then, he became Amethio's first Pokémon, and an irreplaceable partner at that. Eventually, he obtained a set of Malicious Armor and used it to evolve into Ceruledge.
Ceruledge debuted in The Pendant That Starts It All (Part One), having been sent out to battle against Friede's Charizard at the rooftops of Indigo Academy. Both sides were equally matched, but the battle ended abruptly when they all noticed Liko and her Sprigatito jumping from one roof to another. In that moment, Amethio saw an opportunity to strike Charizard down and commanded Ceruledge to use Psycho Cut on it, but the Flame Pokémon deflected the attack, unintentionally causing the blade of psychic energy to fly past Friede and head towards Liko. Fortunately, Liko was shielded from the stray Psycho Cut by a mysterious green, hexagon-patterned protective sphere of energy that appeared around her. Soon after, Friede and Charizard rescued them from their fall and fled from the area.
In the next episode, Ceruledge battled against Friede again, this time facing off against Captain Pikachu. The battle was eventually stopped when Liko interfered, about to give herself up. However, after being encouraged by her Pokémon, she had Sprigatito attack Ceruledge with a Leafage so powerful that it managed to break the forcefield around the Brave Olivine's battlefield. However, this led to the Grass Cat Pokémon being blown overboard by the stormy winds in the process, allowing Amethio and his crew to kidnap her before fleeing.
Ceruledge battling against Friede's Charizard
In For Sure! 'Cause Sprigatito's with Me!, Ceruledge again battled against Captain Pikachu, this time being able to push both Pikachu and Friede into a corner. However, just as they were about to win the battle, it was called off once Amethio noticed Liko running away with her recently-recovered Sprigatito and Friede and Captain Pikachu successfully escaping by flying on Friede's Charizard.
In The Ancient Poké Ball, Ceruledge was used to battle Liko's Sprigatito and Roy's Fuecoco in a two-on-one battle, where Ceruledge's superior battling experience and power easily overwhelmed the duo. The battle was called off once a Black Rayquaza emerged from Roy's Ancient Poké Ball, forcing the Explorers to retreat.
Weak Armor activated
In Charge! Galar Mine!, Ceruledge battled against Friede's Charizard at the Galar Mine. This time, he gained a major lead due to the activation of his Weak ArmorAbility once Charizard made direct contact with Dragon Claw, sharply increasing his speed. However, the battle was interrupted by the sudden appearance of Lucius's GalarianMoltres.
In Reunion at the Ancient Castle!, Ceruledge attacked and scared off a Stonjourner, allowing Amethio and his group access to the ancient castle. In the following episode, Ceruledge battled against Friede's Charizard yet again and tricked it into making direct contact to activate his Ability, giving Ceruledge the upper hand. However, once Charizard Terastallized into a Dark type, Ceruledge was defeated by a single Tera Blast.
Ceruledge and Charizard joining forces to battle the Black Rayquaza
In Roar of the Black Rayquaza, Amethio used Ceruledge in a battle against the Black Rayquaza alongside Corviknight but, despite doing their best, they were easily defeated. In the next episode, Amethio used Ceruledge to battle Hamber's Dusknoir in a training battle. However, Ceruledge was defeated after Hamber Terastallized his Pokémon.
In From So Far Away, Ceruledge Terastallized for the first time into a pure Ghosttype in order to face off against the Black Rayquaza. In stark contrast to last time, Ceruledge was able to effectively deal damage on the Legendary Pokémon, maneuvering around it with a series of Terastallization-enhanced Phantom Force attacks. After Friede entered the battle, the Fire Blades Pokémon teamed up with his Terastallized Charizard. For the remainder of the battle, Ceruledge and Charizard managed to put up a good fight and effectively dealt more damage to Rayquaza, but despite this, both eventually fell to Rayquaza's Dragon Ascent.
In The Approaching Shadow!, Ceruledge was used to battle Liko's Floragato on Glaseado Mountain. Having gotten much stronger since their last battle, Floragato was able to keep pace with Ceruledge, forcing Amethio to use Terastallization to gain the upper hand. Before Ceruledge could finish off Floragato, the battle was interrupted by Spinel, who tested the effects of his recently-obtained Laquium on his Umbreon. The Laquium forced Umbreon into a berserk, feral-like state, giving it the strength to defeat Ceruledge in a single blow. Later, Spinel tricked Amethio, Ceruledge, and Liko into entering a nearby cave before sealing the entrance, trapping everyone but himself inside. Ceruledge was then ordered by Amethio to use multiple Psycho Cuts in an attempt to break through the cave walls but to no avail. In Liko and Amethio, seeing Floragato get some grass stalks for a campfire, Ceruledge wants to help out as well, warming up Amethio with the heat from his fiery blades, to which Amethio thanked him for. After that, thanks to Liko's suggestion, Ceruledge kept everyone warm by starting a fire until he teamed up with Corviknight and Floragato to break through the roof of the cave. After the group escaped, Ceruledge and Amethio parted ways with Liko and Floragato peacefully.
Ceruledge's teaming up with the Rising Volt Tacklers to take on the White Zygarde
In The Truth Revealed!, Ceruledge accompanied Amethio in the Exceed company laboratory to figure out Spinel's schemes. He was apparently captured by security guards hired by Spinel whilst trying to defend his Trainer. After being rescued and returned to Amethio by Hamber, Ceruledge accompanied Amethio to his mansion to form plans against Spinel, before setting off to Laqua.
In Guided by the Black Rayquaza!, Ceruledge accompanied his Trainer to Laqua. He attempted to damage Spinel's machinery with Psycho Cut, but his moves were deflected by Coral's Glalie. He later Terastallized and teamed up with Floragato, Crocalor, and Quaxwell in order to face off against Gibeon's Zygarde. In the next episode, the group fought against Zygarde, with Amethio learning proper teamwork to enable Ceruledge to battle more effectively. Despite the group's efforts, however, they were still no match for the Order Pokémon. After witnessing Floragato evolve, Ceruledge and Amethio were inspired as well, with Ceruledge teaming up with Liko's newly evolved Meowscarada for a final assault on Zygarde. Ceruledge used Bitter Blade to slice apart Zygarde's attack, defending Meowscarada and buying her enough time to land a powerful Flower Trick on Zygarde. After the battle, Zygarde then got up and revealed it was testing Liko's and her friend's strength and resolve all along.
Since the events at Laqua, Ceruledge had been helping Amethio fend off grunts sent by Spinel to capture him. They eventually escaped to the same island where Ceruledge met Amethio. Over a year later in Charcadet's Wish, Ceruledge and his Trainer were reunited with Liko, Onia, and Zirc. He was then used to battle Liko's Charcadet, overwhelming it in every way, but Charcadet's refusal to give up inspired Ceruledge to be motivated. Although Ceruledge took Charcadet down with Shadow Claw, the battle was officially called off with no winner. After the battle, Ceruledge joined his Trainer to search for Gibeon's Zygarde and find a way to fight against Spinel.
In Better, Farther, Stronger!, Ceruledge was used to battle five of Six Heroes, who were affected by an improved Strong Sphere called Super Strong Sphere. However, despite his efforts, Ceruledge gets knocked out by Kleavor.
In HZ124, Ceruledge was used alongside Liko's Charcadet to battle Indi and Rubina's two Salamence, with both Pokémon working well as a team against the two Dragon types. After Charcadet evolved into Armarouge, Ceruledge dealt some damage to both Salamence before Armarouge finished them off with a powerful Armor Cannon.
In HZ134, Ceruledge was sent out to help the rest of the Tera Type Pokémon in purify Laquium for good. In the next episode, Ceruledge and the rest of the Tera Type Pokémon made an attempt to purify the Laquium Core, but the Explorers interfered, losing Penny's Sylveon in the process, until Coral sent out her Scream Tail, nicknamed Screamypuff, to take the Intertwining Pokémon's place. However, Ceruledge and the rest of the Tera Type Pokémon couldn't erase the Laquium Core before Spinel merged with it, awakening it. Ceruledge subsequently teamed up with his friends to take down the Laquium Core. In the following episode, Ceruledge joined his friends in helping Pagogo erase the Laquium Core for good after the Black Rayquaza and White Zygarde used Mega Evolution to make an opening for them to do so.
Personality and characteristics
Ceruledge's fiery blades
Ceruledge is Amethio's first partner and main battler Pokémon, being used in most of his Trainer's battles. Ceruledge has shown to have many of his Trainer's traits, being quite cold and not hesitating to hit or wound other people with his attacks. Ceruledge presents himself as a completely obedient Pokémon, following every single one of Amethio's orders without question or hesitation. His loyalty is further proven when he is shown to be willing to take on attacks and protect his Trainer from harm. In Liko and Amethio, Ceruledge used his fiery blades to keep his Trainer warm in a cold cave they were trapped in. Ceruledge has been extremely loyal to Amethio ever since he was a Charcadet, with Maria, Amethio's mother, commenting how the two were close like brothers. He also promised Maria that he will protect Amethio and keep him safe from danger, a promise he still strives to uphold many years after her death. In addition, Ceruledge's bond with Amethio is very strong and would give everything he had for his Trainer, especially during Pokémon battles.
Ceruledge and Amethio
Much like Amethio, Ceruledge has been shown to still have a sense of honor and mercy even towards enemies, such as obeying Amethio's commands to save Liko's life when he had no reason to, and willingly teamed up with Friede's Charizard who he was enemies with against Lucius's Black Rayquaza in battle.
As a Charcadet with Amethio in his youth
In terms of battling, Ceruledge is quite skilled and powerful, being able to battle and overwhelm Liko's Sprigatito and Roy's Fuecoco single-handedly without breaking a sweat. He was also shown to be capable of battling toe-to-toe against Friede's Charizard and Captain Pikachu, further showing his battling prowess and experience. Like most of his kind, Ceruledge is ruthless in battle and mainly relies on his speed and agility to overwhelm opponents, and he will not hesitate to use sneak attacks and ambushes to his advantage.
In Charcadet's Wish, Ceruledge was shown to have developed a rivalry with Liko's Charcadet, whose courage and refusal to give up in battle inspired both Ceruledge and Amethio to regain their fighting spirit and drive. Although Ceruledge is significantly stronger than the Fire Child Pokémon, he respects Charcadet's determination and treats it as a legitimate opponent in battle regardless of their power gap. Also, despite the rivalry, Ceruledge works well with Charcadet in battle and has formed a friendship with it. Ceruledge is even impressed with Charcadet's improvement in strength and becomes more pleased with it when it evolved into Armarouge.
Description: A combination of Ember and Psycho Cut. Charcadet fires an Ember while Ceruledge uses Psycho Cut and the two attacks combine to form a crescent-like blade of psychic energy enveloped in fire. This was used during Amethio and Liko's Multi Battle against Indi and Rubina.
