Yanga (Japanese: ヤンガ Yanga) is a recurring character who first appeared in The Treasure of Eternity. He is a researcher working for Exceed, and a junior of Friede from his time with the company.

In A Surprise Reunion, Yanga met Friede at a bar in Levincia. After reporting to his former colleague about the situation at Exceed, Friede showed him the research he had done on Laquium and its effects on Pokémon. After initially declining to help, Yanga agreed to assist Friede in uncovering the truth about the mysterious component.

In A Surprise Reunion, Friede gave Yanga his Rotom Phone, which contained Friede's research and findings on Laquium. With this data, Yanga could do further research on the substance. Yanga returned the Rotom Phone to Friede some time prior to HZ141.
