The tail of the Pokémon glows white and strikes the opponent; sometimes, the hit produces light. According to Chaz, only a Pokémon with a fully developed tail can learn this technique.
Pokémon
Pikachu. Its entire tail does the move.
- Used by Ash's Pikachu from All Things Bright and Beautifly! to the present, it has been a very useful attack and the only effective attack against the Pokémon in Template:Type2 Gyms. Learning it from Chaz's Sentret, Pikachu had to train its tail to dispatch this move successfully.
Sentret. Its entire tail does the move.
- Used by Chaz's Sentret in All Things Bright and Beautifly! to demonstrate the move to Ash's Pikachu.
Flaaffy. The blue pearl in the tip of its tail does the move.
- Used by Sullivan's Flaaffy in Whiscash and Ash in the battle against a wild Whiscash.
Steelix. The last three rocks of its tail do the move.
- Used by a wild Steelix in All Torkoal, No Play in a battle against Ash's Torkoal.
Marshtomp. Its two caudal fins hit the foe.
- Used by Tommy's Swampert in Abandon Ship! in a flashback when it was a Marshtomp.
Swampert. Its caudal fin does the move.
- Used by Tommy's Swampert in Abandon Ship! against Ash's Corphish, the use of this attack made Tommy realize that the wild Swampert was his old Marshtomp.
Grumpig. It's entire tail does the move.
- Used by Kelly's Grumpig in Lessons in Lilycove!.
Marill. It twirls its tail rapidly before striking. The ball on the end of its tail does the move.
- Used by Pietra's Marill in Right on, Rhydon!.
Meowth. Its entire tail does the move.
- Used by Tyson's Meowth from ??? to ???.
Milotic. The bottom scales of its tail does the move.
- Used by Juan's Milotic in Eight Ain't Enough.
