The Pokémon World is a planet in which only Pokémon live. It is separate from the world in which the main games and anime take place, although, travel between the two worlds seems possible. Pokémon live in pleasant areas called Friend Areas or Pokémon Square and Treasure Town.
There are apparently no humans in the world at all; however, humans are often talked about or referenced to throughout the game. With this absence of humans, it is unknown how Pokémon like Porygon or Castform came about. However, the in-game description of the Friend Area "Decript Lab" claims that this specific friend area was built by humans long ago, which means humans may have existed before and became extinct. It could also be theorised that the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon World takes place on an alternate plane of reality.
