Location

Beach Cave (Japanese: かいがんのどうくつ Coastal Cave) is a dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky. It has 4 floors. At the end of the dungeon is Beach Cave Pit (Japanese: かいがんのどうくつ おくそこ). Here the hero and their partner battle Koffing and Zubat of Team Skull to recover the Relic Fragment.

It is the very first dungeon that the hero and their partner visit. The first time the hero and partner go to Beach Cave Pit, they fight a Koffing and a Zubat, who have stolen the Relic Fragment from the partner. During this first visit, it is only possible to carry one item at a time, because the exploration team has not yet obtained the Treasure Bag.

It is the only dungeon that can be reached in two different ways—the first being the normal way by taking the east entrance from Treasure Town's crossroads, and the second being an entrance on the beach itself.

Gameplay

All jobs here are E rank by default.

The floor layouts are small, with 2 to 4 rooms. The game will usually spawn 1-2 items on each floor, although rarely there might be no items at all. On average there are 1-2 Wonder Tiles and 2-4 enemies at the start of a floor.

There are no special occurrences in this dungeon, and the player cannot be rescued if knocked out. There is light darkness in the dungeon. The turn limit is 1000 on each floor. The dungeon contains water, which all of its inhabitants can cross, though it is possible for water to be completely surrounded by walls.
