- This article is about the item. For the location in the anime, see Gracidea (Sinnoh).
The Gracidea (Japanese: グラシデアのはな Gracidea Flower) is a Key Item introduced in Pokémon Platinum that changes Land Forme Shaymin into Sky Forme. It is a type of flower that resembles the flowers on Shaymin's head. In some places, people give bouquets of these flowers that resemble Shaymin to thank someone, relating to Shaymin being the Gratitude Pokémon.
In the games
In the core series games
The Gracidea changes a chosen Land Forme Shaymin in the party into Sky Forme. It cannot be used at night or on a frozen Shaymin. Shaymin will change back to Land Forme during the night, if it is frozen, or if it is deposited in the PC.
In Pokémon X and Y, Gracideas are featured in one of the paintings on display at the Lumiose Museum.
Locations
- In Pokémon Platinum, if a Shaymin that was met in a fateful encounter is in the party (which is the case for Shaymin obtained from an event distribution or caught at Flower Paradise in Pokémon Platinum), a woman in Floaroma Town will give the player a Gracidea.
- In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, if a Shaymin that was met in a fateful encounter is the walking Pokémon, a woman in the Goldenrod City flower shop will give the player a Gracidea.
- In Pokémon Black and White, if a Shaymin that was met in a fateful encounter is in the party, a woman in Lacunosa Town's Pokémon Center will give the player a Gracidea.
- In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, if a Shaymin that was met in a fateful encounter is in the party, a woman in Striaton City's Pokémon Center will give the player a Gracidea.
- In Pokémon X and Y, if a Shaymin is in the party, a woman in the Snowbelle City Pokémon Center will give the player a Gracidea.
- In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, if a Shaymin is in the party, the Berry Master's son in his family's house on Route 123 will give the player a Gracidea.
- In Sun and Moon, the north clerk of the clothing store Gracidea in Hau'oli City's mall will give the player a Gracidea (regardless of whether or not they have a Shaymin in their possession).

In the side series games
The Gracidea appears as a toy in the Japanese version of My Pokémon Ranch, after receiving the Platinum update. As in the handhelds, it is used to change Shaymin between its Land and Sky Formes. It only appears if the player has the Gracidea on their Platinum cartridge.
As this update is unavailable outside of Japan, the Gracidea cannot be obtained by international players of My Pokémon Ranch.
In spin-off games
In the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, a Gracidea can be obtained once per day from a Shaymin in Shaymin Village after the player recruits the Shaymin who followed them on the expedition to Sky Peak. The Gracidea can only be used inside a dungeon, and upon leaving the dungeon, Shaymin reverts to its Land Forme. A bow resembling a Gracidea also appears on the Sky Gifts found in Sky Peak.

In the PokéPark series
In PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, Gracideas appear in the Flower Zone. It is necessary to water these Gracideas in order to make them bloom. Shaymin will then change form and guide the player to the Sky Pavilion.
In the anime
Gracideas first appeared in the second Diamond & Pearl series movie, Giratina and the Sky Warrior, in which Ash, Dawn, and Brock met Layla and her husband Moose. The couple was on the way to Layla's great-grandmother's hundredth birthday party, and they wanted to give her a bouquet of Gracideas as a way to express their gratitude. As the group was traveling with Shaymin, Layla bonded with the Gratitude Pokémon, and when Shaymin touched the bouquet, it immediately changed into its Sky Forme. Later on, Shaymin reunited with several members of its species in a field full of Gracideas. In the ending credits, Delia, Johanna, and Lola were seen receiving Gracidea gift baskets sent by their children.
Gracideas reappeared in Keeping in Top Forme!, where a Gracidea garden is featured. All of the Gracidea in the garden have died except for a few. The Shaymin befriended by Marley used it to change into Sky Forme, along with two other Shaymin, and then migrated in order to find another garden.
In the manga
In the Pokémon Adventures manga
A Gracidea first appeared in The Final Dimensional Duel IV, having being picked up by Marley from the Floaroma Meadow before arriving at Route 224 to meet up with Shaymin and ask its assistance for the final battle against Team Galactic, following the instructions in Oak's Letter. In The Final Dimensional Duel X, Shaymin used the same Gracidea to turn into its Sky Forme to fight Giratina, which was being controlled by Charon.
Trivia
- In Strategy Begins at Home!, flowers that look similar to Gracideas are seen on Johanna's garden.
