In Pokémon X and Y, Wikstrom appears as one of the Elite Four of Kalos. He descends from a family of knights, from which he inherited the armor he wears, and speaks in Early Modern English. He is quite chivalric, reveling in a fair and honorable Pokémon battle.

Pokémon the Series
Pokémon movies
Wikstrom debuted in Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction as part of the World of Pokémon intro. During his cameo, he was seen in a battle with Diantha.

Pokémon Journeys: The Series
Wikstrom made his main series debut in Searching for Chivalry!. Ash and Goh traveled to Kalos to participate in a training camp hosted by Wikstrom at the Castle of Chivalry. Wikstrom had the boys traverse through a variety of obstacle courses while wearing armor and defending themselves from Wikstrom's Pokémon. Ash and Goh eventually completed all of the challenges and earned Knight Medals for both themselves and their Pokémon. He also helped Goh evolve his Scyther into Goh by giving it a Metal Coat and transferring it through a trade machine.

In Beyond Chivalry… Aiming to be a Leek Master!, Rinto revealed that he also trained at the Castle of Chivalry. During Rinto's battle with Ash, Ash used some of what he learned from Wikstrom to be able to win the battle.

In The Future is Now, Thanks to Strategy!, Wikstrom was briefly seen battling Drasna at the Castle of Chivalry. In Taking Two For The Team!, he met Ash prior to his World Coronation Series battle against Drasna in Lumiose City and saw that Ash's Farfetch'd had evolved into Sirfetch'd since their last meeting. He later watched the battle and congratulated Ash after he had won it.

In Toying With Your Motions!, Wikstrom watched Ash's match against Leon in the Masters Eight Tournament finals, shedding tears at witnessing Sirfetch'd's chivalrous performance.

Character
True to his appearance, Wikstrom is very chivalrous in his mannerisms and choice of words, though is also very kind and offers support to anyone who seeks it. He believes in upholding the standards of chivalry in all aspects of life, as he believes chivalry to be the best method to achieve greater strength. In battle, whether it be a Pokémon battle or a fight with sword props, he attacks bravely and strives to overwhelm his opponent. Wikstrom also a strong supporter of youth, opening the Castle of Chivalry to provide young Trainers with a training ground to grow stronger and wiser.

Wikstrom is also prone to sudden bursts of extreme and joyous crying when witnessing something truly chivalrous, something that provides humor and concern alike to those around him.

GOTCHA!
Wikstrom briefly appeared in GOTCHA!.

In the manga
Pokémon Adventures
Wikstrom debuts in Malamar Traps. He first appears as a fantasy when Diantha informed Korrina about each of the Kalos Elite Four. He later debuts in person alongside Drasna, where he assists X and Y's group in their quest to stop Team Flare. With his Probopass's magnetic abilities, Wikstrom created guides in the road to help X's group travel to Team Flare's hiding place. Later, Wikstrom battles against members of Team Flare at 20.

After Team Flare is fully defeated, Wikstrom, the remaining Elite Four members, and Diantha carry the unconscious body of Malva, who had turned out to be a member of Team Flare.
