The dowsing rods will cause the player's choice of controller to rumble as they approach them, growing stronger the closer the player is to one; a visual indicator also appears on top of the rods to account for systems/settings that do not support rumble. If the player falls down a pit, they will return to the last solid platform they were on. This is further complicated in the final maze, where the player will need to navigate the maze while enduring a sandstorm/Hail that significantly obscures the player's vision. This weather is used only to disorient the player and does not have an effect on battles in the Challenge. After completing each maze the remaining pitfalls will reveal themselves, making backtracking easier if the player needs to go back to retreat or challenge a Trainer they missed.

Circhester Stadium debuted in Shocking!! Reunion in the Forest, where Melony switched turns with her son Gordie in leading the Gym, with it being converted to match Gordie's Rock theme in the process.
In Swaying!! Murky Memories, Henry challenged and successfully defeated Melony at the Gym, despite his Mr. Rime, which he had received from Melony shortly beforehand, trying to attack its former Trainer directly during the match. After him, Hop also challenged Melony, while Marnie challenged Gordie. Both of these matches ended in the Gym Challenger's victory, allowing them to move on to Spikemuth.

Circhester Stadium (Japanese: キルクススタジアム Circus Stadium) is the official Stadium of Circhester. Its appearance, type speciality, and Gym Leader varies between the game the player is playing. In Pokémon Sword, the Gym specializes in Rock-type Pokémon. During the Gym Challenge, Gym Challengers battle the Gym Leader Gordie to earn the Rock Badge. In Pokémon Shield, the Gym specializes in Ice-type Pokémon, and Challengers battle the Leader Melony, Gordie's mother, to earn the Ice Badge.
In the core series games
Circhester Stadium is located in the back end of town, past the Hero's Bath. It is the site at which the sixth installment in the Galar region's Gym Challenge takes place.
Gym Challenge
Gym mission
In both games, during the Gym mission, the player is given a pair of dowsing rods, called Trap Detectors, and tasked with navigating three mazes laden with hidden pitfalls. The dowsing rods will cause the player's choice of controller to rumble as they approach them, growing stronger the closer the player is to one; a visual indicator also appears on top of the rods to account for systems/settings that do not support rumble. If the player falls down a pit, they will return to the last solid platform they were on. This is further complicated in the final maze, where the player will need to navigate the maze while enduring a sandstormSw/blizzardSh that significantly obscures the player's vision. This weather is used only to disorient the player and does not have an effect on battles in the Challenge. After completing each maze the remaining pitfalls will reveal themselves, making backtracking easier if the player needs to go back to retreat or challenge a Trainer they missed.

Sword & Shield arc
