Black 2 & White 2
Aspertia City served as one of the main settings of this arc, first appearing in The Transfer Student. It houses the Aspertia Trainers' School, where Cheren works as a teacher. During the arc, he taught a class that included Blake, Whitley, Hugh, and Leo. After Looker returned to Unova to resume his pursuit of the Seven Sages, he traveled to Aspertia City to meet up with Blake, who was another International Police agent. Much to Looker's shock, Blake turned out to actually be his superior, despite his young age.
In Mr. Perfect, Blake introduced Looker to the Magician, who supplied him with his equipment. Soon afterwards, the city was attacked by a Blake controlled by Colress with his Colress Machine. Since Colress was using an indirect method to control Genesect, Blake deduced that it was technically a wild Pokémon, meaning that he could stop it by Caught it. As such, he started throwing Luxury Balls at it while his Blake kept dealing damage to it in-between his throws. In Innocent Scientist, Blake finally succeeded in catching Genesect. Before leaving, Colress revealed to Blake and Looker that Ghetsis had made him the new Boss of Team Plasma.
In Movie Panic, the Aspertia City Gym was revealed to not have a Gym Leader at the moment due to its rural location. As such, Brycen suggested to Cheren that he should take on the position.
In Choir Tournament, Cheren's class participated in the Autumn Choir Tournament, a competition where Trainers sing while their Pokémon use sound-based moves. The class ended up winning, awarding them with the right to participate in another competition in Castelia City. This was all according to Blake's plan, as he needed to investigate the sightings of Bronius and Ryoku of the Seven Sages made at the Castelia Sewers.
In Pink Slip, Looker tried to find Blake in Aspertia City after he had disappeared from him, but ended up only finding the Magician, who told him that Blake had been discharged from the International Police due to him having given the Magician illegal access to the organization's database and taken Genesect for his own use without permission. In the same chapter, Benga was revealed to be one of Cheren's students as well, having been temporarily suspended for trying to start a Pokémon battle in the middle of a classroom on his first day of school.
In Abyssal Ruins, Rood took Hugh back to Aspertia City, as he needed to find a memory card required to stop the Colress Machine, which Hugh had found from a pendant belonging to Whitley. Hugh agreed to help on the condition that Rood would return his sister's stolen Purrloin later. Rood agreed to this and retrieved the memory card from Hugh's Trainers' School dorm while Hugh held off a group of Team Plasma Grunts sent to deal with Rood. After Rood had retrieved the memory card, he and Hugh headed to Driftveil City to put it to use.
In Epilogue: Graduation Ceremony, Cheren's class graduated from the Trainers' School, while Black enrolled it in preparation for challenging Gyms again, including the Aspertia Gym, which Cheren had just become the Leader of.

* Aspertia City is the only hometown in the core series games to be a city, and as such is much larger than other hometowns and has a higher population. Aspertia City in the anime

Aspertia City was first mentioned by Professor Juniper in New Places... Familiar Faces!, when she advised Ash to challenge the new Gym Leader, Cheren, while on their way to the White Ruins.

Aspertia City appeared in There's a New Gym Leader in Town!, when the group arrived for Ash and Cheren's battle, which ended in Ash's defeat.

The city contains a port and is also home to the Aspertia Gym. The Gym also functions as a school dedicated exclusively to the education of aspiring Pokémon Trainers. Cheren is not only Gym Leader of Aspertia Gym, but also a teacher of the school.

Black 2 & White 2 arc

Soon afterwards, the city was attacked by a Genesect controlled by Colress with his Colress Machine. Since Colress was using an indirect method to control Genesect, Blake deduced that it was technically a wild Pokémon, meaning that he could stop it by catching it. As such, he started throwing Luxury Balls at it while his Dewott kept dealing damage to it in-between his throws.

Trivia

  • Aspertia City is the only hometown in the core series games to be a city, and as such is much larger than other hometowns and has a higher population. It is also the first hometown in a core series game to contain concrete paths, a Gym, or a Pokémon Center. It is also the first hometown that is connected to a gate.
    • As Aspertia City is the only hometown to house a Pokémon Center, it also is the only city in the core series games where the Pokémon Center is not the flying destination, as this trait is given to the player's house.
  • Aspertia City and Nuvema Town are the only hometowns that share a region.
