Name origin
Glalie's name is likely a combination of glacier and goalie. Its Japanese name is a combination of 鬼 oni, demon, and 氷 kōri, ice. Its name could also be a pun on お握り onigiri, rice ball, to which it has a slight resemblance. The French name is a combination of onigiri and glace, ice. Glalie's German name is based on firn.
