The Mega Shard (Japanese: メガカケラ Mega Shard) is a type of exchangeable item introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
In the core series games
Mega Shards can be found by having Pokémon break clusters of Mega Crystals scattered around Lumiose City or Hyperspace wild zones.

Effect
Mega Shards can be exchanged for Mega Stones, Exp. Candies, and Power items at the Quasartico Inc. headquarters. 5 can be used at the Rust Syndicate to reset EVs.
In the Mega Dimension DLC, they can also be exchanged at the Mega Shard Exchange in Vert Sector 7 for TMs, Feathers and Genesect's Drives. 999 are required to get Magearna and its Mega Stone.
